Redraw the Farm began in 1998 in Colorado Springs with guitarist Brett Coddington, drummer Mark Coddington and bassist Rick Spruce, all writing and singing original music. In 1999 the band grew to include Mike Spruce on trombone and in 2000, Amanda Salazar on saxophone. With enough original material to fill a set, Redraw the Farm began playing for parties and bars around Colorado Springs.
In 2001 Rick Spruce, Mike Spruce and Amanda Salazar left the band to continue their academic pursuits. Later that year, the vacant bass seat was filled by one William Michael “Mikey” Athan Jr. The band was playing in the best dives Colorado Springs had to offer, and in 2002, the bands sound-man, Byron Mason joined as second guitar. Later that year the band was joined by singer/acoustic guitarist Abe Dunaway. The bands setlists and fan base continued to grow, and in 2003 the band was joined by keyboardist Greg Ashby.
In April of 2003 Redraw the Farm hosted a recording party at Paradise City in Colorado Springs. The subsequent result of which became the first live album produced by Redraw the Farm and was distributed free at gigs from Grand Junction to Cushing, Oklahoma and everywhere inbetween.
In 2004 Redraw the Farm began recording with Producer Stephan Freymuth for their next album, "Down That Road". During production of the album guitarist/mandolinist Byron Mason left the band. After the completion of "Down That Road" the band finished out their 27 gig Winter schedule with the last stop at The Ancient Mariner in Maniotu Springs, Colorado. Throughout the spring and summer, Redraw the Farm pleased crowds all over the Front Range in Colorado and as the summer of 2004 wound down, Mike Athan and Greg Ashby left the band to pursue other interests.
In 2005, along with Producer Stephan Freymuth, Redraw the Farm recorded their next album "Oui" with an acoustic instrument setup. Abe and Brett shared the bass guitar duties both in the studio and onstage. Sharing the stage with such great musicians as Terri Hendricks, Loyd Maines, AC&Co, and many others, Redraw the Farm capped off a wonderful year with First Place in The Independent's Readers' Choice for "Best Local Original Band".
2006 brought more recording for Redraw the Farm with "Memories", their fourth self produced album. Again with Freymuth, the band recorded at the Castle de Alexander and this time brought in good friend Ben Hotchkiss on sax and their old buddy Tim on bass on "Tiger Lily". Kermit also makes his debut on the album. Often, the band could be found playing donwtown Colorado Springs at Jack Quinns' or Bristol Brewery or at Hillside Gardens for a sunset gig.
2007 to present, Redraw the Farm continues to grow and play all over Colorado. Members include : Abe Dunaway - guitars, bass, vocals; Brett Coddington - guitars, banjo, bass, vocals; Mark Coddington drums, vocals.
