The story so far...

Redraw The Farm started out in 1999 when guitarist Brett Coddington and drummer Mark Coddington began playing and writing songs along with bassist Rick Spruce. This fruitful colloaboration led to the writing of many songs by all members of the band. The band was then joined by trombone player Mike Spruce and later by saxophone player Amanda Salaazar. At this point the band worked out it's act and was christened with it's unusual name (which was drawn from a hat). For the first time Redraw The Farm began playing bars and nightclubs around Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas.

In 2001 Rick Spruce, Mike Spruce, and Amanda Salaazar left the band to continue thier respective academic pursuits. Later in 2001, the band was joined by William Michael Athan Jr. on bass. "Mike" Athan responded to a want ad for Redraw The Farm and quickly became a member of the band. The band then began playing as a stripped-down 3-piece rock band and started recording some of their new material at Clik Track Studios. After the sessions at Clik Track Studios were complete, the band's sound man, Byron Mason, joined the band as a second guitarist to afford Brett Coddington more freedom to play lead guitar solos.

During late 2001 and the beginning of 2002 Redraw The Farm began playing very frequently in many venues around Colorado Springs. These venues usually included bars and nightclubs such as Benny's Lounge, Laura Belle's, and the Utopia Cafe. Oftentimes they would be joined on stage by singer/songwriter Abe Dunaway as an opening and intermission act. It did not take long for Abe to become a member of the band and add his own distinctive Roots Rock/Alt Country songwriting style to the Redraw The Farm repitoire.

In the middle months of 2002 Redraw The Farm began work on a collection of real-time open-air recordings in thier own practice space/studio. These recordings were engineered by the band's sound man Jeff Crozer and longtime friend Steve Freymuth. These recordings eventually were combined with the recordings from Clik Track studios to become the album Fiveshotslater.

Early in 2003 Redraw The Farm added another musician to thier lineup. The band was joined by keyboardist Greg Ashby. Greg's on-stage antics and colorful persona added a slightly manic flavor to the RTF performances. Greg's unpredictable nature kept each show fresh and entertaining for both the band and the audience alike.

It was during the Spring of 2003 that Redraw the farm hosted a recording party at Paradise City in Colorado Springs. The subsequent result of which became the first live album produced by Redraw The Farm. This album was given away as a promotional demo at their live performances that audience members could take home with them to listen to later. This helped to strengthen the band's following locally and in places as far away as Grand Junction, CO and Cushing, OK.

By early 2004 Redraw The Farm began working with Producer Steve Freymuth to record the album Down That Road. During production of the album guitarist/mandolin player Byron Mason left the band. After production for Down That Road was completed, Redraw The Farm completed their summer performance shedule for 2004 including performances at festivals such as Springspree in Colorado Springs, Mike The Headless Checken festival in Fruita, Colorado, and the Festival in the Clouds in Alma, Colorado. After the summer of 2004, Mike Athan and Greg Ashby left Redraw The Farm to pursue other interests.

At the present time Redraw The Farm is still going strong as a 3-piece acoustic lineup featuring Brett Coddington, Abe Dunaway, and Mark Coddington. They have just released a new self-produced album entitled OUI. The new album features the new songs written by the band as a trio. They will also be performing their new material live at their upcoming shows.
